Commencing Term 1 2027, this is a full-time permanent position.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the Junior School Health and Physical Education Teacher delivers engaging and inclusive programs for students from Pre Prep to Year 6, fostering physical literacy, wellbeing, teamwork and a lifelong appreciation of healthy, active lifestyles. The role also contributes to sporting events, carnivals and co-curricular programs that encourage participation, personal growth and school spirit.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver engaging HPE lessons for students from Pre-Prep to Year 6.
- Plan and implement effective, differentiated learning programs.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress and achievement.
- Provide timely feedback to students and communicate regularly with parents.
- Maintain high-quality teaching practices and integrate technology to enhance learning.
Professional Practice
- Maintain current knowledge of HPE curriculum and teaching practices.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support positive student outcomes.
- Attend staff and departmental meetings as required.
Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Care
- Foster a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Apply effective behaviour management and uphold school policies.
- Support student wellbeing, participation and personal growth.
- Monitor student needs and liaise with relevant staff to provide appropriate support.
- Demonstrate professionalism through effective organisation, punctuality and communication.
