An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Music Teacher to join our vibrant Junior School and Performing Arts team in term 4.
This role is responsible for delivering engaging junior school classroom music education to students, while leading our Junior School Choirs and contributing to the rich musical life of the School through concerts, assemblies and other performance opportunities.
Our flourishing Junior School caters for approximately 675 students and is characterised by a culture that embraces challenge, celebrates achievement and fosters a genuine love of learning. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic educator who inspires creativity, develops musical confidence and nurtures a lifelong appreciation of music.
This is a full-time fixed-term contract for term 4 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom music lessons for students, developing skills in music theory, singing, movement and instrumental performance.
- Plan, implement and assess differentiated music programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum and School framework.
- Lead and direct Junior School Choirs and prepare students for concerts, assemblies and other performance opportunities.
- Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support learning and growth.
- Build positive partnerships with students, parents and colleagues to enhance student outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Performing Arts team to deliver a vibrant and high-quality music program.
- Foster student wellbeing by creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Participate in professional learning and contribute positively to the life of the School.
Our Ideal Candidate
You will bring:
- Qualifications in Education with a Music specialisation.
- A current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
- Experience teaching classroom music in a Junior School setting.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance and contemporary music teaching practices, with proficiency in one or more instruments.
- Experience leading choirs, ensembles and student performances.
- A sound understanding of the Australian Curriculum-Music and contemporary approaches to student learning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to student wellbeing, professional growth and contributing positively to a team environment.
Experience with the Kod谩ly approach to music education will be highly regarded.
